PROGRAM NOTE

The Burning Heart is a suite of six movements for piano derived from the composers Burning Heart Anthologies originaly for Voice and Piano and the orchestral songs of the same name. The settings included substantial music for the piano that could be used as songs without words. The work, inspired by ancient Japanese Haiku poetry, combines the piano and voice music into a synthesis of a new solo work.
