World-renowned gayageum virtuoso Ji-young Yi presents a concert featuring music by UHM composition faculty as well as traditional repertoire for the iconic instrument of Korea.
The concert will include music by UHM composers Michael Foumai, Takuma Itoh, Takeo Kudo, Thomas Osborne and Donald Reid Womack, paired with a sanjo, one of the most exciting genres of the traditional Korean repertoire.
Prof. Yi, a distinguished faculty member at prestigious Seoul National University and one of Korea’s most-recognized traditional performers, is a featured guest-performer-in-residence at the UH Music Department this semester, sharing her talents with UH students and community members.
