Hailed by the Financial Times as the "city's most innovative musical experience", The Intimacy of Creativity returns to Hong Kong 21 April – 4 May, 2014 for its exciting fourth season!
Selected composers will present and revise their chamber music compositions after in-depth discussions between composers and performers during on-campus Open Discussions. The revised compositions will be formally presented at Preview Concerts at the Lo Ka Chung Building on the Lee Shau Kee Campus of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and World Premiere Concerts at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre.
Artistic Director and internationally-renowned composer, conductor, and pianist, Bright Sheng, will be joined by Distinguished Guest Artist, renowned cellist, Trey Lee; Distinguished Guest Composer/Artist and Artistic Director of the American Composers Orchestra, Derek Bermel; Distinguished Guest Composer and Vice President of the Central Conservatory of Music, Xiaogang Ye; Special Guest Artist, internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso Dan Zhu; Ensemble-in-Residence, The Tanglewood New Fromm Players; and Guest Artist and noted contemporary music pianist, Nolan Pearson; noted violist, William Lane; along with other Guest Artists.
