PROGRAM NOTE

Figurative Variations was commisioned by the Composers Conference at Wellesley College and is a set of stylistic variations on a six-note figure. The variations go through “figuratively" different styles of music like polka, disco, circus and carnival music, cartoon music and reference the styles of some of my favorite composers.
